Retaining rings

DIN 471 / 472 / 6799 / 983 / 984 / 5417 / 7993 / 73123 / 73130 / ...

With more than 5000 references in the catalogue and in special parts, USN is one of the leading suppliers in Europe of this product family.

We offer these locking rings according to different standards: DIN, NFE, JIS, MIL, ... in metric and inch dimensions, in carbon steel, stainless steel, tin bronze, ..., galvanised coating and all types of packaging.

Axial Mounting Retaining Rings

DIN 471 snap ring for shafts

DIN 471 are retaining ring for shafts, for universal use. They can transmit high axial loads between the element of the machine which exerts the force and the groove in which the ring is mounted.

Technical sheet

DIN 472 snap ring for  bores

DIN 472 are retaining ring for bores, for universal use. They can transmit high axial loads between the element of the machine which exerts the force and the groove in which the ring is mounted.

Technical sheet

DIN 471 Heavy duty snap ring for shafts

DIN 471 rings with INCREASED THICKNESS are retaining ring for shafts, for universal use. They can be used in applications where regular series rings cannot guarantee mounting stability.

DIN 471 rings with REDUCED THICKNESS are retaining for shafts, they are produced and delivered exclusively on request. They can be used in special applications with reduced throat size.

Technical sheet

DIN 472 Heavy duty snap ring for bores

DIN 472 rings with INCREASED THICKNESS are retaining rings for bores, for universal use. They can be used in applications where regular series rings cannot guarantee mounting stability.

DIN 472 rings with REDUCED THICKNESS are retaining rings for bores, they are produced and delivered exclusively on request. They can be used in special applications with reduced throat size.

Technical sheet

DIN 983 Snap rings for shafts

DIN 983 rings are retaining rings for shafts. They are provided with lugs evenly distributed around their circumference.

They are ideal to lock rounded or beveled mechanical parts.

Technical sheet

DIN 984 Snap rings for bores

DIN 984 rings are retaining rings for bores. They are provided with lugs evenly distributed around their circumference.

They are ideal to lock rounded or beveled mechanical parts.

Technical sheet

AV Snap rings for shafts

AV snap rings are retaining rings for shafts.

Compared to corresponding DIN 471:

- They have a lower radial width,

- They guarantee uniform and concentric contact with the axis of the shaft,

- They allow reduced loads, due to the particular geometric shape with the cut part in contact with the groove.

JV Snap rings for bores

JV snap rings are retaining rings for bores.

Compared to the corresponding DIN 472:

- They have a lower radial width,

- They guarantee uniform and concentric contact with the axis of the bore,

- They allow reduced loads, due to the particular geometric shape with the cut part in contact with the groove.

AL Snap rings for shafts

AL rings are retaining rings for shafts. Their geometry is similar to that of DIN 983, but the ring and the lugs are bent. This feature gives the ring more elasticity to compensate for small axial clearances.

They are only produced and supplied ON specific REQUEST.

Technical sheet

JL Snap rings for bores

JL rings are retaining rings for bores. Their geometry is similar to that of DIN 984, but the ring and the lugs are bent. This feature gives the ring more elasticity to compensate for small axial clearances.

They are only produced and supplied ON specific REQUEST.

Radial Mounting Retaining Rings

DIN 6799 Snap rings for shafts

DIN 6799 rings are radial shaft rings for a wide range of applications. They are fitted by simply pushing the ring into the groove on the shaft using the fitting fork provided.

The DIN 6799 rings can be supplied stacked on steel rods, which can be inserted into our Bases, facilitating the grip of the rings by the Fitting Forks and guaranteeing a quick and easy insertion of the rings into their groove.

Technical sheet

Crescent C Snap rings for shafts

Crescent C shaft rings have a geometric shape that allows minimum radial bulk and radial shoulder width. They are excellent for applications with limited spaces.

Technical sheet

ASS Retaining rings for locks

Retaining rings for locks are radial mounting rings for shaft with special applications.

They are only produced and supplied ON specific REQUEST.

Technical sheet

Constant Section Retaining Rings

SB Snap Rings for bores

SB elastic rings are retaining rings for bores, with constant and smaller radial width, compared to other retaining rings for bores.

Technical sheet

SW Snap Rings for shafts

SW elastic rings are retaining rings for shafts, with constant and smaller radial width, compared to other retaining rings for shafts.
